6.9How do I get precise measurements of an area on site?
Two measurement tools are available from the Pencil menu: Distance and Area. Both work on the plan and on the map.
Measure a distance
Select Distance, then draw a segment between the two points to measure. The value appears immediately. Chain segments to get a developed length — useful for a perimeter or a run of skirting.
Measure an area
Select Area, then draw the polygon bounding the zone. The area is computed as soon as the outline closes. This is how you isolate part of a room: a worktop, a zone to tile, a footprint.
On the plan or on the map
- on the plan, measurements rely on the survey's dimensions;
- on the map, they serve to estimate a travel distance, a gap between two buildings or a land footprint — with no external tool.
The alignment guides help place exact points. For the dimensions of an element already drawn, go through its properties instead.
