Make Plan relies on the LiDAR sensor built into compatible iPhones and iPads. This laser rangefinder measures the distance between the device and every surface, which lets it automatically detect walls, openings and room layout, and rebuild a plan in real time as you move around.

What LiDAR brings

• automatic detection of walls and joinery, with no manual tracing;
• an interactive 3D model built in front of you during capture;
• usable dimensions straight away, with no follow-up laser measurements.

Without a LiDAR sensor

Scanning stays limited to Apple devices fitted with the sensor. On other devices, on Android and on the Web, you have plan import and the drawing tools to produce the same plan by hand.
